Life Lessons My Dog Taught Me

My dog Nami (short for Tsunami) doesn’t give a shit about productivity hacks or people judging her. She just lounges in sunbeams all day, takes naps whenever and whereever she wants, and somehow still gets everything done that matters to her.

This is Nami soaking in the sun while I work from the couch.

Meanwhile, I used to run around like a crazy person trying to “balance” everything. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t working. Between meetings, deadlines, and that growing mountain of laundry, cooking, something’s gotta give. My clients often tell me they feel like they’re running on a never-ending treadmill.

Remember when weekends actually felt like weekends? Those were the days! For way to many years, it was all about catching up on work for me. But here’s the funny thing about trying to do it all – we end up doing nothing well. It’s like trying to eat soup with a fork. 🍴

Oh and what I found out…through experience…is that there is no such thing as a work-life ‘balance’…there is only work-life harmony.

Depending on the season of life we are in, either work or life will have more weight than the other. The key is to be aware of this and stop trying to put a square into a round peg. It doesn’t exist. As long as you are living in alignment with your values and priorities, then you can have a harmonious work-life relationship.

That’s exactly why I created something special for you wonderful souls who are ready for a change. The Work-Life Optimization System is different than those other planners that just make you feel guilty about your growing to-do list. The Work-Life Optimization System isn’t your typical calendar-and-to-do-list combo.

We could learn a thing or two from our furry friends about living with intention. They never worry about their “work-life balance harmony” They just flow naturally between play and rest.

With love and harmony,
